An exciting expedition gets underway on Monday. Colleagues of mine from Northumbria University are setting off to research landslides in the Alps. Recipients of seventh Land Rover & Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Bursary, they will be using some impressive high-tech kit (and a Land Rover Defender) to investigate a major hazard in mountainous areas.
